Founded in 1888 by the Sheridan brothers. In 2000-2012, a German—language version of the newspaper, the Financial Times Deutschland, was also published. The international business newspaper is published in English in 24 cities of the world with a total circulation of about 356 thousand copies. Specializes in publishing and analyzing news from the world of finance and business. The main office of the newspaper is located in London.
An interesting feature of the newspaper is that it is traditionally printed on reddish paper.It is the compiler of the FT500 — 500 rating of the largest companies. The financial times belongs to a group of so-called quality publications (qualities), which include reputable newspapers with a respectable history, such as the times, the guardian and others.
From 1957 to November 2015, the newspaper was owned by the British media holding Pearson PLC.
On November 30, 2015, the Japanese media corporation Nikkei acquired 100% of the shares of the FT Group media group, including the Financial Times newspaper. In addition to the daily edition, "Financial Times", the Sunday supplement "TF Weekend" and the monthly magazine "How to Spend It" are published, filled with articles about real estate (mansions, yachts) and luxury consumer goods (clothing, watches, etc.).
